What is Relaxation Station?

Relaxation Station is a complete contrast therapy experience in areas of incredible natural beauty with zero impact to the environment. We want to create a place to reconnect with yourself and others and be present in the moment; whilst gaining the very best health benefits that contrast therapy provides.

Relaxation Station offers 1 hour sessions in a Finnish-inspired sauna and a solar-powered cold plunge. We find the best views in the UK for you to enjoy.

What is contrast Therapy?

Contrast therapy is putting your body in areas in extreme cold, a small rest in-between followed by extreme heat (or the other way around). We achieve this through a wood fired Finish designed sauna running all day around 90℃ and a electrically powered cold plunge (the electricity we get from our roof mounted solar panels) running at 3℃ to 5℃. If you pay for a session with us you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy both the sauna and the cold plunge.

For first timers we typically recommend 10 minutes in the sauna followed by a 2 to 3 minute break and then a 2 minute cold plunge. However, if you are more experienced with saunas and cold plunges the optimal balance is 15 minutes in the sauna, a 3 to 5 minute break followed by 3 minutes in the cold plunge.

I’ve actually written an article all about the benefits of contrast therapy and what to expect from you first time in a sauna or cold plunge. Click here to read more about contrast therapy.

Where is Relaxation Station?

Right now Relaxation Station is under construction in Colchester, followed by Chichester and then finally it will arrive on the south coast open for business in January 2027.
